The Agriculture for Local Development (ALD) has with principal objective, to contribute to innovations that sustainably enhance agriculture for sustainable local development. They believe a sustainable agricultural system depends on a range of conditions for optimum productivity, which are generated by natural ecological components and processes as well as artificial enhancement by the people.

Their main goal is to contribute to sustainability in environmentally friendly agricultural technologies that will contribute to food security. In this way they are engaged in research and provide technical support in the following areas of food and agriculture; agroforestry, off forest-based agriculture, climate-smart agriculture, these actions provide a triple win, which involves an increase in productivity, more resilient farming systems, and contributing to carbon sequestration (low carbon emissions)
